Test letter
Dear Parents
LETTER TO PARENTS 104/1
We welcome the children back after the Christmas holidays for the start of the Spring Term. One child left Abbey Gates because the family is moving to live in another part of Nottinghamshire: 10 children have joined the pre-school groups and 8 children have started full-time in Mrs Carlyles class. Owing to Miss Dexters absence up to her maternity leave, we welcome Mrs Carlyle to the staff and we hope that she will enjoy her work at the school. Mrs Peet is now taking the Year 2 class.
The Foundation Stage/Key Stage 1 Team comprises a very experienced group of teachers. Therefore in Miss Dexters absence, as Co-ordinator of the Stages, please see your childs classteacher if you have any matter to deal with/resolve. If they feel it necessary they will inform and involve me accordingly.
RED LETTER
To help you check whether or not you have received letters which have been sent out we shall continue with the fortnightly Red letter. Please look out for it on the following Fridays:
30 January 2 April 18 June
13 February 30 April 2 July
5 March 14 May 16 July
19 March 28 May
PLACES AT THE SCHOOL
We have several quite late enquiries from parents who live in the catchment area Ravenshead, Newstead Abbey Park and the Harlow Wood development regarding places (full-time) for September 2004, January and April 2005. The information packs and preference proformas went out on Friday 9 January. If you know anyone, with children in this age range (dates of birth between 1 September 1999 and 31 August 2000), please ask them to contact me immediately if they may be considering a place at Abbey Gates. Currently with combined in catchment and out of area requests we are full and possibly over-subscribed. People living in our catchment area would still have preference providing applications/preference forms are RETURNED BY 10.00 am ON MONDAY 23 FEBRUARY 2004
NB To assist my planning I would welcome hearing from parents who have children in the next admission age range, ie dates of birth between 1 September 2000 and 31 August 2001. This would give me some idea of the in-catchment area numbers and possible interest from out of catchment area.
DINNER MONEY
Please ensure that dinner money is sent into school on Monday mornings, in a sealed envelope clearly showing your childs name, class and days that meals are required. Please note that dinner money is now £1.65 per day (£8.25 per week). Cheques payable to Nottinghamshire County Council please. If you would like to pay dinner money termly in advance please see Mrs Heathcote who will tell you the exact cost for the current term.
Yours sincerely
